About the Pirin village

Pirin Village is 650m. above sea level and lies between Sandanski and Gotse Delchev in the Pirin mountains, South West Bulgaria, near to the border with Greece and Macedonia.

The village has a long past with a very significant history in the revolutionary fighting for Macedonia during the Turkish occupation in the Pirin region; a conflict called ‘Ilindensko Preobrajensko Vustanie’. It prides itself in preserving its traditional rituals, singing and dancing and folklore.

The village still produces excellent organic, home made sheep and goats cheese, yogurt, potatoes and our famous brown Pirin beans.

From May to September every year you are very welcome in Pirin to have unforgettable holiday with the personal attention, and cooking of one of the famous Bisserov Sisters, Lyubimka!
