As a result of the Bisserov Sisters' 25 years' performing around the world and the contacts they have made, Lyubimka saw the opportunity to help their native village of Pirin by organising an annual International Folk Festival. With help from her sisters, Mitra and Neda, financial support from the Municipality of Sandanski and personal sponsorship, the first Festival took place in 2006. Performers from Japan, Norway, Italy, Scotland and England entertained audiences in Sandanski, Rojen Monastery and Pirin village. There have been festivals each year up to 2009. Because there is the five-yearly National Koprivshtitsa festival in 2010, our next International Folk Festival will be in 2011.
